Five patterns that show up again and again in complaints from buyers in Pakistan.
1. Prices far below market
A panel costs about PKR 36.9 to 50 per watt in Pakistan. The bottom of that is the bulk dealer price. A “Tier-1” panel offered well under PKR 36.9 per watt is usually B-grade stock, a refurbished panel, or a relabelled no-name panel.
2. No brand or model in the quote
If the quote says “550W Tier-1 panel” without naming Jinko, Longi, JA or similar, the installer has left themselves room to deliver whatever is cheapest that week.
3. Full payment upfront
A normal schedule is around 40% on order, 40% when equipment is delivered to your roof, and 20% after commissioning and net-metering approval. Anyone demanding 100% before delivery is a risk.
4. Net metering “guaranteed in one week”
Approval realistically takes four to ten weeks depending on your DISCO. Anyone promising a week is either lying or planning to skip the application.
5. Serial numbers you cannot check
Genuine panels have serial numbers you can verify with the manufacturer. Ask for photos of the labels before you accept delivery, and check a few of them.
